I was born in Knoxville, TN to teenage parents. Growing up low-income in the South has taught me about resilience, compassion, and the power of a stubborn mind. Today I live in St. Louis with my husband of 7 years, our toddler, and our four pets. I spend my free time reading, doing crafts, and working hard to be a mom that breaks the cycle of family dysfunction.
I graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in 2015 with a BS in Psychology. My career in mental health began by accident, while working with a nonprofit homeless coalition. Eventually I landed at BJC Behavioral Health working several years as a case manager for adults with severe mental illness. I earned my MA in Counseling at Lindenwood University.
I want to care for people, and meet you where you are. You're at a place in life you didn't "anticipate." You're frustrated at work or you're scrambling to perform. You wake up dreading the day or you cry every night. You might be self-soothing with food, alcohol, or marijuana. I am here for you. We will figure out what your ideal life is, and do the work to make it happen-together.
I enjoy finding the humor in life, so there will most certainly be laughter in session at times. I tell the truth-but with compassion. I will ask the hard questions but let you lead. I empower others. I have realized that there are pieces of all of us that provide connection. The parts of you that feel unloveable are the things I will highlight as invaluable.
